I was listening to this week's show on the way in to work this morning and just after listening to the segment I stopped for a coffee and they had CNN on the TV and as I walked in the headline on the screen was: "Superbug hits NYU student" which according to the host was referring to a case of MRSA

This piece has actually inspired me to write a speech about the misconceptions and the media's effect on the mainstream views of MRSA. Some of the facts I've found through the statistical abstract in addition to other places has been startling. One article from CNN which I read head a headline along the lines of 'MRSA deaths may surpass aids toll' the article is rich with twisted statistics which through the research I've been doing has not correlated much. I'm glad OTM chose to do a piece on this because its something that has really created a slightly unnecessary scare among the general public.
