The R-Word

January 11, 2008

With a tricky definition and a lag-time to compile statistics, it may take up to a year to know if we are indeed in a recession right now. In the meantime, the media speculate. Why do I hear you all using the term the “liberal media?” The “liberal media” is stated as a given. The “liberal media” is the only conspiracy theory that the allegedly liberal media is willing to accept? Please explain that to me. Why are using the term? Are their any studies demonstrating that the media is liberal? I am aware of studies demonstrating a conservative bias in the media.
